Handle Initial Birth Mother Calls
Birth parents are provided with an 800 number that is personally answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The initial call from a birth mother is a very important and emotional time. We treat all birth mother calls with respect and compassion. We have one person (who has also adopted) that handles most of the birth mother calls. She has over seven years of experience and has talked to literally thousands of birth mothers. Inexperienced individuals can become very nervous during these critical initial calls and can loose what might have been a good situation.
Obtain Initial Information About Birth Parent(s)
When a birth mother calls we talk to them, in a caring and non-judgmental way, about their situation and why they are an considering adoption. We try and obtain information about their estimated due date, birth father involvement, their general health, ethnicity of the birth parents, financial needs, substance use, etc. Even though we may obtain some preliminary information and offer our opinion about a situation, it is the responsibility of the adoptive parents agency or attorney to verify the accuracy and completeness if this initial information.
Present Your Dear Birth Mother Letter to Potential Birth Parent(s)
When a birth mother calls, we openly discuss what characteristics she is looking for in an adoptive couple. Based on this information, we send her our appropriate clients Dear Birth Mother Letters. Birth mothers review these letters to help them chose the adoptive parents for their child.

If, after reviewing adoptive parents letters, a birth mother is interested in one of our clients, she will call us to arrange an initial phone call. If you have been selected, we will then notify you of the situation and arrange a mutually convenient time to call. Prior to this call, we will be able to provide you with initial background information about the birth parents.
