Dear Birthmother,

Thank you for considering us as prospective parents. Never did we imagine being in this situation. You are an inspiration in our lives. We believe things happen for a reason and that we were meant to find each other. We are ready and excited to step in and raise the child that you have created. We admire your courage and strength and promise that we will love and nurture your child in every way possible.

About Us
We have been married for four years and are best friends. Prior to getting married, we dated for two years. We are blessed to have a strong and committed marriage. Over the years, we have supported each other through difficult times. One month after we were married, my (Shaun’s) brother suddenly passed away. We never thought that a tragedy like this would make our relationship even closer. It takes a lot for us to become angry with one another. We found that a situation like the loss of a brother makes you realize anything can happen when you least expect it to. Both of us agreed at that point in our lives that we would live life to its fullest.
We love spending time together any way possible. During the summer, we always make time to go on a vacation. I (Jill) was scared to death to fly until I met Shaun. The first time that I flew on a plane was to go on our honeymoon. No one ever was able to get me to fly in a plane until I met Shaun. Shaun sat and held my hand and did everything possible to make me comfortable. Needless to say, I (Jill) still was scared out of my mind. Sports are a common interest for us. We love to take walks, run and play one-on-one basketball. Of course being almost a foot shorter than Shaun, I (Jill) do my best to win. We have attended special sporting events together such as the Final Four basketball games, college and professional football games and professional golf tournaments.

We enjoy spending time with friends and family, especially during the holidays. We appreciate and respect each other and are willing to do anything to make the other one happy. Both of us grew up in loving and caring families. Our families mean a lot to us because of the love and appreciation that we all have for each other.
Two years ago, we decided that we wanted to start a family. With the strength and love of each other, we have been able to cope through four miscarriages. Without you, we may never have the chance to become parents. To hear the words “daddy” and “mommy” would mean the world to us. We will express our love to our children by saying “I love you” and comforting them so that they understand how important they are. We will put our children’s needs ahead of everything. We want to take our children to places such as the beach, zoo, science center, sporting events, amusement park etc. When our children attend school, we will let them choose the extracurricular activities that they find of interest. Even though we both have day jobs, our children will always be our first priority. Since I, (Jill) am a teacher, I will have the opportunity to stay home with our children during the summer and holidays.

Our Home
Three years ago we searched for a house that was located in a safe
environment and in a reputable school district. We bought a four bedroom house located on a cul de sac. Many times we walk by the empty bedrooms in our home and imagine a nursery and children playing. There are always children playing on the streets or riding their bikes in our neighborhood. My (Jill’s) sister lives in our neighborhood and has two young children and pregnant with her third. We would love for our kids to grow up close to their cousins.

Shaun about Jill
Jill is a reading specialist. She loves going to work everyday because she enjoys teaching children. She plans to take time off of teaching once we become parents. Jill is a patient, loving and honest person. She is the middle of five children in her family. Her parents have been married for 38 years. I admire how all of Jill’s siblings, including her, graduated with a
masters or doctorate degree. Jill’s family is extremely close and all live within minutes of our home. Her family is very loving and dependable. We see them whenever we want and enjoy being together. Jill loves spending time in the summer watching her nephew and niece. She is excited for the day to arrive so that she can do the same with our children. Her family is as excited as we are to welcome home a baby.

Jill about Shaun
Shaun is a sales representative for a major corporation. He has the opportunity to work out of our home. He is like a big teddy bear because he is a loving, caring and generous person. He has a sensitive side that makes people adore him. He always volunteers his time to help family and friends when needed. Shaun will do anything to protect me. Shaun is the youngest of three in his family. His parents have been married for over 40 years.

Before his brother’s death, Shaun made a promise to his brother that he would watch over his nieces. We often attend school activities and family gatherings with them to help with the loss of their dad. He is a positive role model and father figure to his nieces. Shaun’s family is supportive and excited for us to adopt a baby. Some of Shaun’s interests include watching, playing and coaching sports. In the past, Shaun has been a high school and college basketball coach because he loves to work with kids. I know one of his dreams is to coach his own children.

Thank You
Thank you for taking the time to look at our family profile. We hope that you can picture your baby with our family because we are going to love and adore your child to pieces. We promise that your child will always know his/her adoption was based on love. We assure you that your child will know that his/her journey of life started because of you.

If you would like to learn more about us or to arrange to speak with us, please call Cindy Simonson (anytime) at A Act of Caring (800) 556-5635.
