Hi,
we are John and Irene Hafner.
Thank
You for taking the time to read our letter!
We
admire your incredible strength and determination to find
a loving and stable home for your baby. We feel that placing
a child for adoption is the ultimate act of unselfish
love and we really hope that the openness in your adoption
process will give you the support you need and deserve.
As you learn more about who we are, we hope that you will
consider our home for your baby.
We
both have always dreamed about having a family. From the
time we met, we wanted to have a family together to be
able to share in the closeness only a family can have.
Ever since we’ve been married we’ve tried
to get pregnant. We have done various infertility treatments
including in-vitro. Our strong desire to have a family
and to be able to share our love is so big that the transition
of deciding to adopt was an easy one.
We
met at a charity golf tournament and fell in love shortly
after meeting. We are true soul mates and best friends.
We got married in Lake Tahoe and had a beautiful wedding.
John is a native of Southern California and Irene is from
a dairy farm in Minnesota. Although we came from completely
different backgrounds, we have a lot in common. We love
the outdoors and are very active by going to the gym,
hiking, golfing and playing various other sports, and
taking long walks on the beach. With our wonderful travel
benefits, we’ve traveled a lot together and now
can’t wait to take trips as a family to visit other
cultures and children’s playgrounds such as Disney
world.
John
has owned his own business for the past 23 years as a
General Contractor. Because of his success with his business,
it will allow him to spend quality time with his family.
John is a happy, fun loving person with a great sense
of humor. People are drawn to John’s personality
being he enjoys life and is a kid at heart. John is quite
the handyman and is able to fix just about anything around
the house. He especially enjoys BBQing for family, friends,
and making special dinners for his wife. John enjoys golfing
and spending time on the beach surfing. When our baby
is old enough perhaps he will have his own personal caddie.
We can’t wait to build sandcastles, collect seashells,
and enjoy the beach as a family. John takes an active
role with the Community and loves to help others in need.
His thoughtfulness, wisdom, and tenderness will make him
an amazing father.
Irene
has been employed with Southwest Airlines for the past
12 years. She was a Manager for 5 years. Since we got
married, she has stepped down to a Supervisor position
which enables her to have more flexibility in order to
spend more time with her husband and family. Irene’s
skills such as listening, empathy, understanding, and
genuinely caring about others have not only made her a
successful leader but would be wonderful attributes to
being a Mom. Irene had a very active childhood that has
continued throughout her adult years. She participated
in activities such as volleyball, basketball, track, and
softball.
Being
she was the second youngest, she babysat her nieces and
nephews during her teen years. She has always been drawn
to children and loves to take care of them. She always
knew and dreamed about having a family of her own.
Growing up on a farm, her family was constantly together.
Her parents instilled a strong work ethic, helping others,
and to be respectful to others. Irene is a very kind and
patient person who always see the best in everyone. She
enjoys her free time by doing yoga, hiking, reading, cooking
and learning about nutrition.
We
both come from very close-knit families. John has 3 siblings
and 7 nieces and nephews. John’s brother and his
family live close so we are able to see them often and
share holidays together. His two sisters and their children
live in Portland, which we go to visit a few times a year.
Irene has 6 siblings and 19 nieces and nephews who all
live in Minnesota, which we also visit a few times each
year. We are excited to take our children to enjoy spending
time on the farms and celebrating Christmas in the snow.
John enjoys driving the tractor, milking cows, and helping
with the farm chores, which are new to him. Irene’s
brother and his wife adopted a special little girl who
is now 6 yrs. old. Of course, we get many visitors throughout
the year to see and enjoy sunny California.
We
live in a 4 bedroom home in a nice family-oriented gated
community near the beach and next to a play-ground. We
are excited to welcome a new addition to our home to fill
it with toys, giggles, and more love. Our community has
some of the best schools in the county. The weather is
beautiful, and we are an hours drive from many amusement
parks such as Seaworld, the world famous San Diego Zoo,
Legoland, and Disneyland. We have both been raised Catholic
and come from loving homes. We continue to be strong Christians
and enjoy having God in our lives.
Our
children will grow up in a home full of unconditional
love and tenderness. We will make sure they feel safe
and secure in our love and know that we will always support
them. We believe in the value of education and will provide
our children the opportunity to go to the college of their
choice. Our children will discover their own unique interests
and we will do our best to help them reach their goals.
We
are excited to welcome a new baby in our loving and caring
home to make our family complete. If we are selected,
we want to assure you that your child will always know
they were loved by you and what a tremendous gift you
gave when you placed him/her for adoption. We are open
to having communication, sharing letters and photographs.
So, if deep in your heart you feel that we are the right
fit for your baby and that we are the kind of family that
you can have an open relationship with, please call Cindy
Simonson at 800-556-5635.
With
lots of love,
John
and Irene Hafner
